Hampton, VA is located in the center of Hampton Roads (sometimes referred to as Tidewater). Hampton Roads is ranked the 31st largest Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in the United States. The Hampton Roads MSA is the fifth largest metropolitan area in the southeastern United States, and the largest between D.C. and Atlanta.
